Starting at 6:00pm There will be a social hour to enjoy a picnic type dinner and volunteer sign-up for spring and summer garden planting work dates. At 7:00pm we will hold a brief business meeting followed by a conversation with our guest speaker, John Hammer, on “Green Steps to a Green Lawn” – growing your lawn without chemicals!
John Hammer is a Principal Landscape Architect at SLR Consulting in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He is a leading turf-grass professional and an Eagle Scout. He received his BSLA degree from The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, or SUNY-ESF. SUNY-ESF is the nation’s oldest and most respected school dedicated to the study of the environment, developing renewable technologies, and building a sustainable future. John joined GPIP as a member of the Board of Directors in 2020 and brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to the organization.
