Buckingham Park |
Buckingham Park garden was started in the spring of
2007 to extend the GPIP projects to East Glastonbury. Since
this garden is at the entrance to a town park and is across
from a busy shopping area, it was thought that this was a
perfect spot to showcase this new project. Designed by
Deborah Kent, the garden was planted by 10 loyal and local
volunteers who continue to weed, deadhead and water it. We partner
with Buckingham Firehouse #4 to use their faucets to water
the garden when necessary. Many of the local passers-by have
complimented GPIP on the beauty of the garden as well as
thanking the Buckingham volunteer team and GPIP for their
hard work.

It seems that every winter the local voles enjoy
dining on the perennials at Buckingham Park! Thus a
dedicated team of GPIP volunteers have additional work
planting new and different ones each spring.
We greatly appreciate their time and labors to keep this
East Glastonbury showcase garden looking beautiful. The
volunteers clean and mulch the beds twice a year along with
on-going summer weeding and deadheading.
GPIP also thanks the Buckingham Firehouse #4 for their help
watering the garden. |
